Red Kimono 2006-02-15

I was playing around with another photo today, and then I thought of this one. I converted the photo to black and white except for the girl. I really liked this shot from the moment that I took it, but the girl's flash of red was lost in the doorway. This brings it out and creates a nice parting moment.

It was warm today. My wife and kids went to play at the leprosarium. (Now it's more like an old nursing home with a nice bit of grass outside.) In the afternoon, it reminded me of summers in Los Angeles at 6pm (the most perfect weather I've experienced in my life). Just a week ago it snowed, and a cold wind is supposed to blow tomorrow. How strange that you can have a warm day inserted in the middle. Overall, it's good news. Once the first warm wind blows in Japan, Spring is around the corner!
